What is Adoption visa – Australia Visa?

This visa enables adoptees and their adopted children to reside in Australia.

Eligibility

  • The adoptive parent or prospective adoptive parent must sponsor the child in order for it to be legal.
  • The child must be less than 18 when the adoption occurs, the application is made, and the decision is made.
  • Our health requirements must be met by the child and any dependant children who apply for the visa with them.
  • The youngster must satisfy our character criteria if they are 16 years old or older.
  • If the child or any family member of the child owes money to the Australian Government, it must be repaid or a formal arrangement must be made to do so.
  • If it is not in the best interests of a candidate under the age of 18, we could decide not to grant this visa.

What is the procedure?

  • Check the child’s passport is valid.
  • Provide documents in support of the visa application.
  • Complete the following 2 forms, then return them together to Perth’s Child and Other Family Processing Center through the mail (with the proper prepaid postage) or courier.Form 47CH Application for migration to Australia by a child (564KB PDF),Form 40CH Sponsorship for a child to migrate to Australia (544KB PDF) .

  • When we receive the application and supporting documentation, we will notify the applicant. After applying, there can be additional tasks and considerations.
  • It doesn’t matter if the child is in Australia or not when we make our choice.

What is the cost?

  • The visa costs AU2,790 for the main applicant.

What is the processing time?

  • 25% of applications: 4 Months
  • 50% of applications: 9 Months
  • 75% of applications: 16 Months
  • 90% of applications: 27 Months

Document Required

  • Passport pages with the child’s portrait, name, and the dates of their issue and expiration should be provided.
  • Give a certified copy of the child’s passport or another travel document, as well as any passports the youngster has held since arriving in Australia.
  • Provide 4 recent photos.
  • Provide the child’s adoption papers or adoption compliance certificate.
  • Children older than 16 must present a police clearance from any nation where they have spent 12 months or more in the previous 10 years.
  • For every dependant under 18 years old who is applying with the child, provide identity documents, and travel documents.
