What is a Business Owner visa?

This visa is intended for those who run a business in Australia. It enables indefinite residence in Australia. You must have a qualifying visa that has been granted on a specific basis in order to apply as the primary applicant.

Who are eligible?

• You must currently hold an eligible visa.
• Your present visa was issued to you on the grounds that you, your partner, or your ex-partner met the essential requirements for that visa’s issuance.
• In the two years before the application, you must have spent a total of at least one year in Australia as the bearer of an acceptable visa. It is not necessary for the 1-year term to be continuous.
• You must have owned a stake in one or more actively running principal enterprises in Australia for two years before applying, and you must still do so.
• You must meet the assets and employees’ requirements.
• There is no age limit for this visa.
• You must meet our health requirements, and depending on their circumstances, any family members applying with you may also need to do so. In some cases, you won’t need to have a new physical.
• You must meet our character criterion, as well as the requirements for any family members who are applying for the visa with you and are at least 16 years old. Family members who aren’t traveling with you to Australia must also fulfill the criterion.
• Sign the Australian values statement.
• If you owe the Australian Government money, you must have paid it back or made arrangements for it to be paid back. This includes any members of your family who did not apply for the visa with you.
• If you were in Australia while your visa was cancelled or refused, you might not be eligible for this visa.

How long you can stay?

• It is a long-term visa. It permits indefinite residence in Australia. The travel portion of the visa expires five years after the day it was granted.

• Gather all the documents.
• We must receive your application while you are in Australia. Despite not having immigration clearance, members of your family unit may be inside or outside of Australia.

What is the cost?

• The primary applicant must pay AUD2,570 for the visa. Each family member who applies for the visa with you must pay a fee as well.

• Applications are evaluated on a case-by-case basis, and because each situation is unique, processing timelines may vary.
