URGENT
It has been almost a year since I applied for a visa to accompany my daughter (Canadian) to make sure she is settled in for her first year of University. Applied for visit visa on May 30, 2021 and to date I didn’t receive a reply other than Online message that my application is under process – there is no mention of any timeline. I sent several emails and I received automated replies. It will be highly appreciated if a detailed update will be sent to me. When I recently checked the process time for such a visa on the website it indicates that for a visa application from Ghana processing time is 46 days while I have been waiting for almost a year. We should be traveling in July 2022.

Dear Officer,
My name is Esther Fidelis. We are a family of five: my husband Anthony Okoeka, myself, Faith Nkwocha, Goodness Nkwocha and Best Anthony. I have put in a spousal application for my husband since August 13, 2019. On November 6th 2020, he was told to send his international passport for processing of his visa at the Accra visa office in Ghana.
I am writing to request for your help in expediting the process because of the numerous challenges and stress my children and I are passing through. I work for the city of Toronto as a front line worker in one of their facilities at Seven Oaks Long Term Home & Services. The job demands my full attention and strength, for transferring the residents from their beds to their wheelchairs, wheelchairs to beds, taking them to washroom for bathing and using the toilet, changing their briefs, feeding them and every other thing they require that would demand my attention. My children are too young to be left on their own, they need an adult to oversee their activities, when I am at work. I am not able to optimize my abilities because my husband is not here. I am not settled at work and often I have to decline calls for duty.
The Covid 19 pandemic is putting more stress on my family, resources and income. On two different occasion I was called from work to pick up my two daughters from their school because there was a case of Covid in one of their classes. They were also told to quarantine for 14 days. I was called in on January this year from work to pick up our little boy from daycare because there was a case of Covid 19 in his class. He had to stay home for 14 days. These are circumstances that are quite tough for families that have both parents living together. These incidents happened at different times. If it affects my little boy’s daycare the sisters will have to stay out of school for the two weeks. If it is the girls’ school, my little boy will have to stay at home. What this means for me and my children, is that I lost one and a half months’ of income, and it was very difficult for me to pay rent and feed my three children. If my husband were here with us, I could still go to work. He would also provide for the children’s needs and help to guide them through this developmental stage.
I appeal to you to please, give my application the necessary attention, so that we can take good care of our children. Thank you for your understanding
Esther
