Sad day today. This is the second time visiting the high commission trying to get an OCI .I showed the documents what I have but the receiving officer wanted to see proof of how my grandfather arrived in
Trinidad . I was told by high commission to check trinidad and tobago achive ..which I did today .they only have arrivals
up until 1917.My grand father arrived on boat from India in 1947…I check national security but nothing .It sad to know he is my mother’s father and I cannot get proper the document to satisfy the embassy’s requirements.
I have already paid once in 2017 .I have pictures with him and my mother and swear affidavit showing he’s my mother’s father .Also a letter he wrote mentioning me in it. I also have my great grandfather’s passport page ..a citizen of india who came with him. I recently got this from a family member in england but that’s all as all his sisters had passed away.
I was with him up until he left in around 1977 for India .I was around 7 yrs old .He left ,never to come back and eventually pass away there in India an ashram.I spoke to the officer today explaining but sadly I was again told to try to consider getting a visa.Please help
