What are the Documents Required?
Documents Required
Adult Passport
- Payment must have been made using the payment button, correspondent bank, or internal banking method.
- Valid and legible physical or digital identity card.
- Previous passport for cancellation (if Renewal)
- Disability card (Optional Requirement)
Minor Passport
- Payment must have been made using the payment button, correspondent bank or internal banking method.
- Valid and legible physical or digital identity card.
- Presence of the parent(s)
- Special Power of Attorney, Court Judgment or Resolution.(In case the parent(s) are not present)
- Disability Card.(Optional Requirements)
- Passport of the father or mother (Optional Requirements)
Procedure to apply and obtain Ecuador Passport
- Visit https://apps.registrocivil.gob.ec/portalCiudadano/index.jsf
- Create a profile with a username and password for Citizen.
- Select your type of service.
- Create an order that accepts the terms.
- Click on the order cart located at the top right of the screen.
- Select online payment method,(Online Payment by Debit or Credit Card.) Online Payment in Banking Institution Applications. Payment: Bring your ID number only for financial institutions or affiliates.
- Once the payment is made, you should go to the Virtual Agency page, click on Order Basket
- Go to information block on appointment date with requirements.
- The passport area will be fingerprinted, photographed and signed.
- Wait for your name to be called and verify your information.

Seniors: 50% discount
Third issue surcharge: $150.00
Processing time
Except for the San Cristóbal agency, in agencies not located in cities with production centers, normal passports will be delivered within 1 to 5 working days from user registration, and its delivery time is 12 working days.
At the Matriz Iñaquito, Guayaquil Regional Government and San Blas Cuenca agencies, passports will be issued on the same day
