1. Issuance of Biometric Passports for Adults

The Peruvian citizen of legal age who is abroad and does not already have a Peru Passport may apply for one at any Peruvian consulate overseas.
Send a copy of the legal documentation naming the applicant’s legal representative.
The certificate of disability that attests to a person’s situation as a person with disabilities must be presented in the case of what is stipulated in the General Law of Persons with Disabilities.
Suppose you have obtained a declaration from a foreign authority. In that case, your passport can only be handled by a Peruvian consular office abroad with a constituency in the country where the holder’s legal representation has been decided to be incapable.
The validity of the passport is, in principle, five (5) years maximum.

2. Biometric passport of Minor

The minor must attend with at least one of his parents, their legal guardian, or a representative of at least one of his parents.
You must always present your National Identity Document (DNI) if you’re a Peruvian or a foreigner, an identity document that serves as legal proof of your nationality.

A certified copy of the minor’s Peruvian birth certificate with a date of issuance no older than six (6) months must be presented if they do not have their National Identity Document (DNI), except for those under the age of 17.

Documents Required

Original birth certificate: You must provide an original or certified copy of your birth certificate. This document verifies your identity and citizenship.

Marriage certificate or divorce decree (if applicable): If you have changed your name due to marriage or divorce, you may be required to provide the relevant documents as evidence of the name change.

Procedure to apply for and Obtain Peru Passport

Every Peruvian citizen, whether are adults or minor, who is traveling outside of Peru and complies with the requirements has the right to apply for a regular electronic passport.
Visit the website of the Peruvian consulate or embassy in your country of residence and schedule an appointment to submit your passport application.
Download and complete the passport application form. You may need to provide your personal details, contact information, and travel history.
Your biometric data will be collected at the consulate or embassy, including your fingerprints and a digital photograph.
After submitting your application and biometric data, the embassy/consulate will process your application. The processing time may vary, but it typically takes a few weeks.
Once your passport is ready for collection, you will be notified by the embassy/consulate. Visit the consulate or embassy and bring the necessary identification to receive your passport.

Make sure to check the expiration date of your existing Peru passport. It’s recommended to start the renewal process at least six months before your passport’s expiration date to avoid any travel complications.
Complete the application form: Download and complete the passport renewal application form. Provide accurate information about your personal details and contact information.
Visit the website of the Peruvian consulate or embassy in your country of residence to schedule an appointment for passport renewal. Some consulates may offer online appointment booking, while others may require you to call or visit in person.
After submitting your application, the embassy/consulate will process your passport renewal. The processing time can vary, but it generally takes a few weeks.
Once your passport renewal is processed, you will be notified by the embassy/consulate. Visit the consulate or embassy in person and bring the necessary identification to collect your renewed passport.
