Procedure to Obtain Sierra Leone Passport
- Purchase a passport application form
- Whether you are applying for a passport for the first time or renewing one, properly fill out the application and submit it with the necessary documentary evidence (see here for a list of the documentation needed for both types of applications).
- The Immigration Department will determine the applicant’s nationality and citizenship after receiving their application and decide whether to invite them to an interview.
- If an interview is unnecessary, the candidate will be asked to pay and have their biometrics (fingerprints) taken. When an interview is necessary, the candidate will be contacted and invited, but not before making a choice. After the interview, the applicant will receive another invitation to submit payment and a biometric.
- Printed and delivered to the passport office, where the applicant can pick it up.
