Procedure to apply and obtain Turkmenistan Visa

  • Identify the type of visa you need based on your purpose of visit, such as tourism, business, transit, or work. Visit the official website of the Embassy of Turkmenistan or contact the consulate/embassy for information on the visa types available.
  • To apply for a Turkmenistan Visa contact State migration service of Turkmenistan.
  • Some visa types require a sponsor in Turkmenistan, such as a company or individual who can provide an invitation letter. Make arrangements with your sponsor if necessary.
  • Submit your completed visa application form, the required documents, and the visa fee to the Embassy of Turkmenistan or the designated consulate/embassy. Types of visa

1. Diplomatic (DP) and service (OF) visas

  • Written or electronic application of the applicant;
  • A copy of a foreign citizen’s current passport or a document that replaces it
  • The applicant’s authorized official grants power of attorney to the authorized representation performing visa-related work.
  • A copy of the accreditation certificate provided by Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to a foreign national

2. Business visas (BS1, BS2)

  • In three copies, legal firms and individuals inviting foreign citizens to Turkmenistan must apply for a business visa (BS1, BS2).
  • The list of foreign citizens to whom a business visa application (BS1, BS2) is submitted in three copies;
  • For issuing a business visa, information regarding the operations carried out by a legal entity or an individual without forming a legal body that invites them to Turkmenistan is required.
  •  A copy of the current passport of a foreign citizen;
  • The applicant’s authorized official grants power of attorney to the authorized representation performing visa-related work.

3. Investment visa (IN)

  • Application for a foreign citizen’s investment visa (IN) in three copies;
  • The list of foreign people for whom an investment visa (IN) application has been submitted in three copies;
  • Certificates attesting to the entrance of money and material resources into Turkmenistan’s economy in the sum of $250 (two hundred and fifty) thousand US dollars;
  • A copy of the current passport of a foreign citizen;
  • Power of Attorney granted by the applicant’s authorized official to the authorised representation performing visa-related work.

4. Work visa (WP) and work permit for a foreign citizen

  • Application for a work visa (WP) and work permit to a foreign citizen, in 3 copies;
  • In the case of legal entities and individuals inviting foreign citizens to Turkmenistan to carry out contracts concluded with Turkmen ministries, departments, or other organizations, the application must be accompanied by the application of the Ministry’s heads.
  • Document (certificate) issued by Turkmen authorities certifying the absence of a chronic infectious disease (HIV infection) caused by the human immunodeficiency virus.
  • The copy of the employment contract between the inviting party and a foreign citizen

5. Family visa (FM)

  • Application for a family visa (FM) to a foreign citizen, in 3 copies;
  •  Documents confirming their relationship;
  • The list of foreign citizens for whom a family visa (FM) application has been submitted in three copies.
  • The copy of the current passport of a foreign citizen;
  • A copy of a foreign citizen’s valid passport if they are in Turkmenistan on a business (commercial), work, student, or sports visa;

6. Sports visa (SP1, SP2)

  • Application for a sports visa (SP1, SP2) to a foreign citizen, in 3 copies;
  • A copy of the current passport of a foreign citizen
  • The documentation required to ensure the sporting nature of the travel to participate in a sporting event or the organisation of sporting activities, sports cooperation;
