| Fiji | Solomon Islands |
| Kiribati | The Federated States of Micronesia |
| Nauru | Tonga |
| Palau | Tuvalu |

According to Immigration New Zealand, the move is part of a broader effort to:

- Support family reunions and community connections
- Make short-term travel more accessible
The government will also use the 12-month trial period to assess travel demand, application volumes, operational impacts, and long-term policy options.
Additional Benefits for Pacific Travelers
Pacific visitors already enjoy advantages compared to many other international travelers:
- Lower visitor visa fees than most countries
- Exemption from the International Visitor and Conservation Levy (IVL)
- Access to recent visa improvements, including longer visa validity periods for eligible travelers.
