According to a survey by Henley & Partners, people of Finland, Denmark, and US have the world’s most valuable passports. Argentina scores quite high on the list, with an Argentine passport giving you the power to travel to 101 countries visa-free. Argentina beats out most of Latin America, such as Uruguay, Brazil, and Mexico and much of Eastern Europe, such as the Czech Republic, Romania, and Slovakia. A passport from Argentina lets you travel to 160 countries/territories without a prior visa. It is ranked the 21st in the world.

Steps for Argentine Passport Renewal

  1.  Visit Azopardo 620, from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  2. If abroad, then you can visit the Argentine Consular Representations.
  3. Contact the Argentinean consulate with jurisdiction over your area, and schedule an appointment to bring in your application renewal materials.
  4. Take a print of the online application, paste photograph, sign on the first (beside the photograph), third and the fourth pages. Complete the remaining columns by answering all other columns in writing.
  5. Enclose required documents and submit it along with the prescribed fee.
  6. The Embassy does NOT follow appointment system for passport services.
  7. The applicants should visit the Embassy on working days, except on Wednesdays, during hours specified in the Working Hours section of this website.

Documents Required to Renew the Passport in Argentina

  •  Print of filled up passport application form
  • Argentine/Uruguay/Paraguay resident card of the applicant.
  • Expired Passport or which is going to expire (up to one month before expiry);
  • N.I., L.C. or L.E. (no other identity documents are accepted)
  • 4 passport photos (size 4 x 4, taken from the front, against a white background, without hat and without glasses)
  • Documents proving civil status duly legalized and translated: birth certificate, marriage certificate, divorce decree, death certificate (the latter in the case of widowhood).
  • Payment of the relevant fee
