What is a state/Territory Sponsored Business Owner visa?

This visa is intended for individuals who own and run a business in Australia. It entitles you to remain in Australia indefinitely. You must have a qualifying visa granted on a specific basis in order to apply as a primary applicant.

Who are eligible?

• You must hold an eligible visa.
• have spent at least 12 months in Australia on that visa in the two years preceding the application, while holding this visa.
• having owned and operated a business in Australia for at least two years prior to making the application.
• You must have owned and continue to hold a stake in one or more actively operating major firms in Australia.
• The regional authority in the state or territory where you run your business must sponsor you.
• There is no age limit for this visa
• You must meet our health requirements, and any family members who apply with you may be required to do so as well, depending on their circumstances. You may not have to go through medicals again in some cases.
• You and any family members over the age of 16 who apply for the visa with you must meet our character requirements. Family members who are not traveling with you to Australia must also meet the requirements.
• Sign the Australian Values Declaration.
• If you or any family members (including those who do not apply for the visa with you) owe money to the Australian Government, you must have paid it back or made arrangements to pay it back.
• If you have had a visa revoked or refused while in Australia, you may not be eligible for this visa.
