I am preparing to file my income tax return for FY2021.
My accountant informs me that honoraires and disbursements will be $2 950 (CDN), up from $1 000 last year.
I am retired, have only a commercial registered retirement fund plus Canadian and Québec old-age pensions.
My income is below the taxation cutoff… i.e. I pay Québec and Canada taxes, but not USA.
I use an accounting firm for my Canadian tax return for a cost of approximately $ 250 CDN,
I must use another firm for my US tax return for a cost of $ 2 950 CDN.
Is there an alternative method for filing my US return??? I find the current cost is unreasonable.
