About USA

How to apply for USA visa?

U.S. immigration law specifies the sort of visa you need based on the purpose of your trip. Visas for the United States fall into two primary categories:

Nonimmigrant visas – For travel to the United States on a temporary basis
Immigrant visas – For travel to live permanently in the United States

US Nonimmigrant visa

Nonimmigrant visa: The Visa Waiver Program requires a visitor visa (B-2) for foreign nationals visiting the United States only for the purpose of tourism. The term “tourism” refers to a brief trip for vacation, family visits, or medical treatment.

Nonimmigrant visas for temporary entry to the United States for business (visa category B-1), tourism (visa category B-2), or a combination of the two (B-1/B-2).

US immigrant visa

Immigrant visas – For travel to live permanently in the United States

Immigration to the United States can be based on a variety of factors, including blood relatives, work, adoption, a variety of special immigration categories, and even a diversity visa.

Types of US visa

B-1 and B-2 visitor visas are used by most business and tourist travellers.

Travelers with a B-1 visa can meet with business contacts or attend a conference, finalise an estate, or negotiate a contract while in the United States.
People who are vacationing, attending a social function, or participating in amateur contests for no compensation are all B-2 visa holders.

Transit visa

In order to go to another country, foreign nationals must apply for a Transit C visa, which allows them a brief stay in the United States before continuing on to their final destination.
These transit visas are for crew members of maritime boats or international airlines who plan to enter the United States on a C-1, D, or C-1/1 visa.

Student and educational visa

Student and exchange visitor visas are available to international students only after acceptance into a school recognised by the Student and Exchange Visitor Program.

The most common student visas are F-1 and M-1 visas:

In order to obtain an F-1 visa, you must be a full-time overseas student who intends to pursue an academic degree.
Full-time overseas students in vocational courses are eligible for the M-1 visa classification.
The exchange visitor programme, or J-1 visa, is another name for the J-1 visa classification (EVP). Only foreign nationals who have been given the go-ahead to participate in work or study exchange programmes are eligible to use this service. Interns can be anything from scholars on short-term assignments to camp counsellors or research assistants.

The K-1 or Fiancé(e) Visa

It’s possible for your fiancé(e) to apply for your K-1 visa on your behalf as long as you are engaged to a US citizen and want to marry and settle in the US.
After landing in the United States with your fiancé(e), the K-1 visa allows you to marry within 90 days of your arrival. You can apply for a Permanent Resident (Green) Card after your marriage for an adjustment of status.

What is the processing time of USA visa?

Getting a visa takes about two weeks from the time the Embassy receives your application. Your passport should be returned to you in 2 or 3 more business days.
