This system is horrible. There is no way to even find out why they have not returned my daughter’s passport with or without the visa. We were told that they had reached a decision on her visa but could not tell us what that decision was or why they hadn’t returned her passport in the overnight envelope we had provided. The decision was made 13 days ago and we had to leave for the UK. I left my minor daughter in the US so that I could come and start work for the NHS and no one is able to tell me why we can’t just have her passport back. They should be ashamed of themselves. Clearly they have never cared for a child and thought about having to leave them behind. I cannot fathom what has made them keep her passport for an extra 2 weeks beyond when the decision was made. With no email and no call and no contact. Also there seems to be no phone into the building. Perhaps the inter-office communication is a Solo Cup on a string. I had thought that I was moving to a first world country. Perhaps they could partner with a company that has funds for a phone line.
I’ve combed through the web and nowhere does it say an extra expedited visa costs upwards of $1800. Their website and Google lists approxmately 1000 USD max.
Oh and fyi though they’re not supposed to take walk-ins… but they do… for a $75 fee of course. I am truly disappointed to British embassy has partnered with them.
