About Barbados
Barbados is a Caribbean island republic located about 100 miles (160 kilometers) east of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. At its widest point, the island extends roughly 20 miles (32 kilometers) from northwest to southeast and about 15 miles (25 kilometers) from east to west. Bridgetown is the capital and largest town, as well as the primary harbor. It’s easy to obtain a Barbados visa.
There are no major rivers or lakes, and there are just a few streams, springs, and ponds. In Barbados, little of the native vegetation survives; the pale green of farmed sugarcane has become the dominant color of the landscape.
