About Burma
Myanmar is also known as Burma, country, which is located in the western portion of mainland Southeast Asia. It is Southeast Asia’s northernmost country and the shape is like a kite with a long tail that runs south along the Malay Peninsula. The country has a land area of 676,578 km2, which is near twice the size of Germany or slightly smaller than the US state of Texas. Myanmar is home to 55 million people (2021 est.). Yangon is Myanmar’s largest city, the former capital, and economic center (Rangoon). Burma’s new (administrative) capital has been Naypyidaw, a planned city in the country’s center, since 2005. Burmese is the official language; major regional languages include Kachin, Kayah, Karen, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, and Shan. Lahpet Thoke, also known as tea leaf salad, is a popular dish in Myanmar. Fresh and fragrant salads abound in Myanmar, but this one, in particular, is a must-try.
Thanaka is a ground bark paste that is used to make a face mask that is used on women and girls throughout Myanmar. Most rides take place in Bagan, where you can take a sunrise flight over the region’s two hundred temples. Tea shops are one of Myanmar’s most well-known attractions. Take a break wherever you’re going to sit on a stool and sip some milky tea. Myanmar has some incredible dishes to try, and you may have already had the opportunity to do so at home. Burmese curry is one of my favorites, and you can order it with pork, fish, beef, mutton, or shrimp.
How to apply
Applying online
- Fill in the application and submit all the details online.
- Before proceeding to the next step, the applicant must ensure that all of the information entered is correct. Use a credit card to make your payment. An acknowledgment email with the applicant’s application reference code will be sent to the applicant’s email.
- The approval process could take up to three working days. Once approved, the applicant will receive an eVisa approval letter via email. Print the approval letter and bring it with you along with your passport. You must bring it with you when you arrive.
- When you arrive at the Myanmar Immigration checkpoint, show the immigration officer your eVisa approval letter and passport to get your passport stamped.
