Visa Requirement
Foreign nationals who are permitted to enter metropolitan France for a short visit without a visa are allowed to enter Monaco without a visa.
Foreign nationals who hold a residence permit issued by a Schengen State are also authorised to enter and stay in Monaco.
Holders of a valid Schengen visa covering France or a visa with limited territorial validity (LTV) for France are permitted to enter and stay in Monaco.
Holders of an LTV visa that is not valid for France may not enter Monaco.
Holders of a Schengen visa should be in a position to produce documents in support of the purpose and conditions of their visit to Monaco.
Short-stay visa for Monaco
The procedure for applying for a short-stay visa for Monaco follows the same conditions and rules applicable to the Schengen visa.
If the purpose of your visit is to carry on a paid activity during a short stay, you must additionally attach the work contract endorsed by the Employment Department of the Principality (in lieu of a temporary work permit issued by a French regional directorate for competition, consumption, labour and employment – DIRECCTE).
This work contract endorsed by the Employment Department of the Principality may be substituted by an “offer of employment” drawn up by the Employment Department for visit periods below three months for persons working in the performing arts.
