Oman Passport


Procedures for obtaining the passport for the first time:

The Directorate General of Passport & Residence is responsible of issuing passport for the first time

Eligibility or Criteria:

An applicant above 15 years and having identity card

  • An applicant present personaly
  • (15-18)years, parents should attand
  • Signature of parents or guardian’s should be matched with his signature in identity card
  • An applicant who is below 18 years of age and not having identity card

  • The parents or guardian’s should apply
  • Signature of parents or guardian’s should be matched with his signature in identity card
  • Children born outside the Sultanate

  • An applicant should apply first at Directorate General of Civil Status for civil ID Number
  • Required Documents:

    An applicant above 15 years and having identity card

  • Present the original identity card and a copy of the identity card
  • Present the original passports or identity card of both parents, and their conformed copies
  • In cases where parents’ passports are not available or where parents have passed away, the applicant must produce a verification of the applicant’s relationship from the Shaikh, Wali of the area and Ministry of Interior and bring the original passport of a relative from the part of the father
  • (e.g.. brother, uncle, or mother) or the demise certificates according to the cases

  • (15-18) years, The guardian’s written approval stating their no-objection to the issuing of passport to his (son, daughter) if the latter is below (18) eighteen years. A copy of the father’s identity card to be enclosed
  • Note : Signature of parents or guardian’s should be matched with his signature in identity card

    An applicant who is below 18 years of age and not having identity card

  • In case the applicant not attand, Enclose two 4 X 6 coloured photographs with front view of the face against white background for children below the age of (15) fifteen years old
  • Present the original birth certificate and a copy of the birth estimation
  • Present the original passports or identity card of both parents, and their conformed copies
  • The guardian’s written approval stating their no-objection to the issuing of passport to his (son, daughter) if the latter is below (18) eighteen years. A copy of the father’s identity card to be enclosed
  • In cases where parents’ passports are not available or where parents have passed away, the applicant must produce a verification of the applicant’s relationship from the Shaikh, Wali of the area and Ministry of Interior and bring the original passport of a relative from the part of the father
  • (e.g.. brother, uncle, or mother) or the demise certificates according to the cases
    Note : Signature of parents or guardian’s should be matched with his signature in identity card

    Children born outside the Sultanate

  • An applicant should apply first at Directorate General of Civil Status for civil ID Number
  • If the applicant’s mother is a non-Omani,a certificate of proof of the marriage issued by the Ministry of Interior must be presented along with a copy. Exemptions apply for those married to citizens from the Gulf Cooperation Council states
  • Procedures

    Present the required documents to the Directorate General of Passport & Residence.

    Fees

  • (5) five Omani Riyals for applicants below (18) eighteen years
  • (10) ten Omani Riyals for applicants above (18) eighteen years
