How to apply and obtain Saudi Arabia Visa

Types of Visa

1. Government visa

Requirement of visa :

You must be invited by a Saudi Arabian government department or institution to obtain a Saudi Government Visit visa (e.g. government hospital, university or ministry etc.).

  • Original passport with at least two (2) consecutive empty visa pages, valid for at least six (6) months.
  • Fill the application online
  • The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs or one of its departments in Jeddah or Dammam issues a visa referral letter with the number and expiration date of the visa.
  • To get one, you’ll need a letter from the Saudi Arabian Foreign Ministry stating that your visa application has been granted.

2. Diplomatic and Official Visa

  • A letter from the Department of State or the relevant embassy stating the applicant’s name, title, position, purpose, and length of trip, as well as the number of entries requested.

3. Tourist Visa

5 Employment visa

6 Residence Visa

Employers apply for work permits for foreigners with the appropriate government bodies – the Interior and Labor and Social Affairs Ministries. A resident permit is required for anyone staying in the Kingdom for more than three months (Iqama). This is a two-year document issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Dependents of foreign employees are typically granted residence permits, which do not allow employees to seek employment. Holders of residence visas must get exit visas in order to depart the Kingdom.

7  Newborn visa

8. Family visit visa

  • A visa reference note: issued by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs or one of its branches in Jeddah or Dammam, specifying the number and date of the visa.
  • Proof of the applicant’s relationship with the party who invited them in, as well as proof of the applicants’ own relationship, if any.
  • Minors under the age of 18 traveling alone or with only one parent must present a notarized letter in Arabic or English signed by a parent or legal guardian.

9 Umrah Visa

They must apply for an Umrah visa through a reputable Umrah travel agency.

  • One recent passport size color photograph
  • Passports must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of application submission.

Validity of visa

The Umrah visa is only valid for two weeks. You should do Umrah during these two weeks, ensuring that your departure from Saudi Arabia is within two weeks of your admission date.

10. Hajj Visa

Each year, from Mid-Shawwal to the 25th Dhual-Qa’dah, Hajj permits are issued.

The application form can be obtained from the Saudi Consulate in your area. However, it is recommended that you hire a registered travel agent to arrange your visa, as well as your travel and accommodations and everything else you may require to complete the Hajj. Your application form will be sent to the Saudi Consulate by your travel agent.

11. Student visa

  • A visa reference note: issued by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs or one of its branches in Jeddah or Dammam, specifying the number and date of the visa.
  • One (1) original and one (1) copy of the applicant’s birth certificate.
  • Original and one (1) copy of the applicant’s high school diploma The Saudi Cultural Mission must validate each copy.

Cost of Visa

Fees for the visa (SAR 300) and insurance (SAR 140). The amount is comparable to $123 dollars in SAR.
